Sharon
Korman began her career in 1987 with classical training
in watercolor under the tutelage of Lei Yu, the celebrated
Chinese watercolorist.
In
1990, Sharon continued her education for several years at
the National Academy School of Fine Arts where she studied
life drawing and oil painting with prominent artists, including
Gary Faigin, Jacob Collins, and Sam Adoquei.
From
1994 to 2006, she was a member of the Advisory Board of the
National Academy Museum and School of Fine Arts and a member
of the Academy's Council since 1999.
On
November 15, 2004, Sharon was the honoree at the National
Academy School of Fine Arts Benefit, where one of her paintings
was auctioned. Sharon is a member of the New York Artists
Equity Association, Washington Art Association in Washington,
CT, and the Allied Artists of America.
In
1998, Sharon was designated as the artist in residence at
the Masterworks Foundation in Bermuda where she taught classes
and painted on site. Sharon has had many solo exhibitions
of her oil paintings in New York, Connecticut, and Bermuda.
